We slipped a fake page into a Harlequin novel. The story continues in the author’s style, with the same characters. But suddenly, they start talking about Pantene. First one, then another, and they mention the product more and more, and its qualities. The reader will probably wonder what’s going on. Until the next page reveals the trick. The fake page can be removed, allowing the story to flow on as normal.
